Kenya Airways boosts regional services

National flag carrier Kenya Airways announced today that it was boosting its domestic and short haul regional services with an additional aircraft, a Boeing 737-300. The equipment registered as 5Y-KYM has been leased from KLM. It will initially be used primarily to boost the services on the Nairobi-Mombasa route.

Ethiopian Airlines and the Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank) of the United States have signed an agreement worth over $1.6 billion to support the financing of five B777-200LR and ten B787-8 aircraft and General Electric spare engines.

 
Ethiopian Purchases Ten Pilot Training Jets and a Simulator

Ethiopian Airlines announced that it has signed a purchase agreement with Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH of Austria for ten DA40NG pilot training aircraft and one D-SIM-40 stimulator. The aircraft will be equipped with the new Austro Engine AE300 power plant.

 
Arik Air extends services to Monrovia

Arik Air today announced further expansion of its regional African services with the inauguration of scheduled flights between Lagos and Monrovia, Liberia. The new service to Monrovia will commence on Thursday, August 12, 2010 and it will operate via Accra, Ghana.
